About you

We're looking for a curious, driven engineer at the start of their career who is excited about working across data and software engineering. You'll work with diverse datasets, build backend microservices, and contribute to the full data and product layer. University projects, personal work, and internships all count - we care about how you think and learn, not just what you've shipped professionally.

AI is central to what we build and how we work. One of the real engineering challenges we tackle is making large-scale data accessible to AI - datasets that are too large to fit in any LLM's context window. You'll grow into designing solutions around this: working with RAG pipelines, building AI agents that retrieve and reason over data intelligently, and contributing to multi-agent systems that cut the time it takes our users to reach critical insights. This space is evolving fast across the whole industry, so you won't be behind - you'll be learning alongside everyone else.

You'll work close to the product - everyone here shares responsibility for what we ship and how it behaves in production. We move fast and the landscape changes constantly, and we'll support you in building the confidence to move with it.

What You’ll Work On

• Build and extend AI agents and multi-agent systems that retrieve, reason over, and surface insights from complex datasets
• Design and implement RAG pipelines that make large-scale data accessible to LLMs - solving the fundamental challenge of data volumes that exceed context window limits
• Build and maintain data pipelines and processing workflows across a variety of data domains and formats
• Work with a range of databases suited to different data needs (e.g. ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch) - schema design, query writing, and integration patterns
• Develop backend microservices with FastAPI, contributing to a broader event-driven architecture
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineers in a cross-functional setup - contributing to product decisions, not just implementation
• Write clean Python with attention to code quality, testability, and maintainability
• Use AI-assisted tools actively throughout your daily workflow

What we’re looking for:

• Solid Python foundation - you've built things with Python, whether in university projects, personal work, or an internship; you care about writing code that others can read and maintain
• Some exposure to data or backend work - pipelines, databases, APIs, or any hands-on experience working with data; a strong university project counts
• Awareness of web backend concepts - basic understanding of how APIs and services are structured; direct experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks is a plus
• Curiosity about event-driven systems - you've heard of or read about async patterns, message queues, or event streaming and want to go deeper
• Interest in AI agents and RAG - you understand or are actively learning how LLMs work, what context window constraints mean in practice, and why retrieval-augmented approaches matter for real-world data problems; prior hands-on experience is a plus but not required
• Care for code quality - you think about structure, readability, and testing, even if you're still developing these habits
• Eagerness to learn and adapt - you don't need all the answers; you ask good questions, take feedback well, and keep moving
• Genuine interest in AI-augmented development - you're curious about or already experimenting with AI tools in your workflow; we'll help you build real fluency in using them autonomously, not just as a chatbot
• Product mindset - you care about the "why" behind the work, not just the "what"; you want to understand what you're building and for whom

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience with any of our current databases: ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch
• Exposure to vector databases or embedding-based search (e.g. pgvector, Qdrant, Weaviate)
• Experience with LLM APIs and agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar)
• Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, or similar)
